Ada
I am a 26-year old single female. I love kids and am amazed at human development and watching the young grow. I’ve been babysitting since I was 16 and worked at a child daycare center where I took care of kids ranging from infants to 5 year olds. I also have extensive experience with older kids (elementary through high school) and tutor mainly in Math and French, but can help with homework on any subject (through high school. I can also tutor in college math and French). I’m very passionate about everything I do. I play soccer 5 times a week (when it’s warm) and lacrosse. I also play the piano and speak French fluently. I’m working on Korean (can read and write so far). I recently passed my certification test and now am a LesMills BodyStep instructor. I’ll be teaching in a couple of gyms around the area and am excited about that. I attended Virginia Tech for my undergrad, Georgetown for a certificate program and am working on an MBA from George Washington University. I look forward to sitting for you!

Adrianne
Hi, I’m Adrianne! I am 19 years old, and I have lived in McLean, Virginia all of my life. I absolutely adore working with children. When I’m around kids I feel as if I am constantly reminded of the little things in life and that it’s all about having fun and enjoying every special moment of it. I began babysitting in my earlier years as a teenager, caring for kids around my neighborhood including family members of mine in the area. I have had experience working with children of various ages, and not just through babysitting, but through working as a sports camp counselor and private sports instructor as well. I am a physically active individual, and have been so ever since I began playing sports at the age of five. I’ll jump at the chance to play any game there is imaginable with my friends and with kids. In addition to playing and watching sports, I enjoy a bit of creative writing here and there, and I love crafting. I also have a liking for outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking. I was always the little kid venturing off to play in the muddy creek.
Aside from babysitting, I am a college student planning to begin my sophomore year at Virginia Tech in the fall of 2011. I am currently a meteorology major, and depending upon the path I choose I would like to engage in some type of severe weather research with a concentration in tornadic development. I am looking to add a second major to supplement my meteorological background as well.
I look forward to meeting and working with you and your family!

Akoua
Hello, my name is Akoua and I am 27 years old. I am originally from Pennsylvania. Currently, I work at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). While serving in the Peace Corps in Africa, the children in the village would frequently visit my house. We would sing songs, draw and color, and play games. The time I spent with the kids was the highlight of my days.
I have always been very active and like playing sports. On numerous occasions, I have coached young, aspiring softball players at clinics. In addition, I have mentored and tutored inner city middle school students. Family members and friends would often ask me to watch their children because I am responsible and I love spending time with kids. In my experiences, I have learned interacting with children is an incredibly rewarding experience. Their curiosity and energy keeps us on our feet and it’s a challenge I embrace with enthusiasm. There is nothing better than seeing a smile on a child’s face. I look forward to meeting your family.

Alessandra
Hi! My name is Ali and I’m 24. I’m originally from northern New Jersey but I have enjoyed living in and discovering the DC area over the past couple of years. I love working with kids and luckily have been able to make it my livelihood. Currently I am employed as an Assistant Program Director at a non-profit extended day childcare organization. I have Bachelor Degrees in Elementary Education and Writing Arts as well as certification to teach Middle School English and Social Studies. For the past 8 summers I have worked at a sleep away camp in northeastern Pennsylvania. For the past two summers I have been a Head Counselor at this institution that has up to 650 children ages 6-16. Before this position I was in charge of our evening activities and a lifeguard/waterskiing instructor. I have also been a babysitter since I was 14 and formerly worked for another sitter referral service throughout my time in college.
I like to sing and dance, create art projects, and make up new games. As an only child I’ve always had an active imagination and I connect well with kids. I can talk Star Wars and Harry Potter one minute and Dora the Explorer the next. I love getting outside with kids and running around or going to a park. I know a lot of funny songs and I’m very outgoing. I have a reliable car, can cook a decent meal, and have no problem taking kids to various activities. I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Anna
Hi, I’m Anna! I’m 25 years old and have had experience with children since day one - we all start out as infants, right?! More formally, I have been baby-sitting and volunteering with children for the past 12 years. I love working with children because it has given me the opportunity to look at the world through a child’s point of view; which I love! Being around kids provides a time to be silly and creative, fun and exploratory, encouraging and stimulating, and honest and loving. While I’m baby-sitting, it’s important to me to ensure that I do all that I can to meet all of those descriptions for the child. In addition, it’s important to maintain balance and a schedule. I find that the easiest way to do all this is to play, laugh, listen, teach, learn, explain, lead by example, and be a friend. Some of the best memories I have are from while I’m babysitting, and when I go to spend time with a child I want them to feel the same way!
In addition to babysitting, I have an Associate of Science Degree in Psychology and am working towards my Bachelor’s degree. Then, the big picture includes a PhD - it’s a good thing I love school! I also intern with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, a grassroots organization that provides education and services to individuals, their families and friends, law-makers, policy holders, law enforcement, and anyone who is affected by mental illness. This has been a wonderful fit for me because it is a cause I care about and I have been able to assist in educating others, with the hope of decreasing the stigma that mental illness often carries.
Well, that’s certainly enough about me - let’s talk about you - I’m looking forward to meeting you and your family!

Betti
Hi my name is Betti and I am currently a student attending George Mason University. I intend to declare Biology major with a pre-med track. I have lived in the Northern Virginia area all of my life and have been watching kids and babysitting for as long as I can remember. In addition to my two younger sisters I have a very big family. So there has always been a younger relative that needed to be watched for a few hours and I would always be happy to do so. In addition to this I have also babysat outside of my own family. I have experience watching children from ages of about 10 months to preteens.
I have played sports and been pretty active my entire life, I played basketball from the age of 8 to 17. Playing sports taught me discipline, character, great communication skills, and the ability to work well with others of all ages. In my spare time, I like to relax and hang out with my friends, spend time with my sisters, or just play games, sports, or whatever comes up with my younger cousins. I’m excited and can’t wait to meet and get to know you and your amazing kids!

Brittany
I am 24 years old and I’m from a very small town in West Virginia. I moved to the DC area a year ago. I was with a nanny agency in WV for four years and I loved it. I majored in early childhood development with a specialization with infants and I plan to continue my education. I have five years total experience with children. I also use to teach Headstart and I’ve worked in a daycare. I really enjoy one on one time with children the best, which is why I prefer being a nanny. I’ve had my CPR and first aid certificates since 2004 and kept them updated up until this year, being a mother gives you some room to slack on duties
I got married and had a baby boy this summer. My son is four months old and I am blessed. I am a very outgoing person and I love being around people. I love animals and I love music. Looking forward to meeting you and your family soon.

Hello! I am a 20 year old student who loves to sit during my free time. I have been sitting for children of all ages since I can remember! Growing up, my mother was a daycare provider in our home. As I grew
older, I started sitting for families in the neighborhood for newborns all the way up to teenagers. I also have worked
with infants and toddlers at a daycare part-time, tutored school-age children, and have volunteered at many different summer camps for kids ages 5-16.
I love the joy and comedy that children can bring to life by saying or doing something so simple. I am fun, trustworthy, and caring. I am currently pursing a Biology degree from Virginia Tech and my future goal
is to attend medical school and become a Pediatrician. I was a lifeguard for five summers and taught swimming lessons to kids of every age. The activities I enjoy while sitting include playing outside, baking, going to the pool, arts & crafts, and reading. I would love to meet your family!

Coree
My name is Coree and I am 26 years old. My husband and I live in Burke VA, 7 minutes from GMU where I attend Nursing School. I grew up in Mobile, Alabama with my parents, three siblings and a very close community. As a babysitter, my goal is always to help parents feel as comfortable and confident as possible that their children are being well taken care of. Knowing how important consistency is when taking care of children, I do my best to understand parent’s wishes and desires and make an effort to care for children accordingly. My number one priority and goal in life is to, one day, raise a family that can testify to the love of God and contribute to the community and on out into the world. I feel very blessed to have had so many opportunities to learn from people from all over the world and am currently studying psychology and nursing so that someday I can stand in a position to share what I’ve learned with others.

Hi, I am an outgoing and kid friendly person. Being the oldest of six, I have years of experience babysitting multiple kids anything from newborns to adolescents. Coming from such a large family I have lots of patience and can quickly come up with activities to keep children entertained (to let some of that excess energy out). For example, I love to do activities where kids can participate like helping out with snacks or doing crafts. I enjoy taking walks and being outdoors especially at parks. I graduated from George Mason with a degree in Management and minors in Latin American Studies and in Spanish. I have also tutored students from elementary to high school. I am a 27 year old South Carolina native who moved to the DC area from Charleston, SC in April of 2007 to see what the place had to offer. Currently, I am working on a second undergraduate degree in nursing at George Mason University. I have been babysitting for families since middle school. Additionally, for six consecutive summers throughout high school and college, I worked as a lifeguard providing direct supervision to large groups of children.
I thoroughly enjoy caring for children because I learn from them as much as they might learn from me. I appreciate the way in which they look at the world and I am always excited to explore activities that stimulate their interests. In the past, I have taken children to such places as the park, the community swimming pool and to dinner and a movie. While keeping children at home, I always try to keep the children involved by helping them create games, reading books, and my favorite, doing cooking activities. I am CPR certified and have had training in First Aid. I would be willing to update my First Aid certification if requested. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Hello! I’m a 30 year old stay- at- home mom in the Burke area. My kids are ages 4 and 6 now, but I enjoy all ages of children. Prior to becoming a mom, I worked in developmental disabilities and the healthcare field, so I have experience with special needs. I have worked as a nanny to multiple children before and spent my entire life in some form of care or another. From age 13 I have been a babysitter, night nurse, nanny, play therapist and all around care provider. I have experience with all ages, and extensive experience with infants and toddlers. Now I’m just looking to keep busy and make some extra income by continuing to care for kids, which is what I really enjoy doing with my spare time. I love to play, and am happy to read stories, play games, spend hours playing on the floor, go to the park, take kids to activities, anything and everything that makes the kiddos happy, I love to do!
I’m trustworthy and reliable, and you can know that leaving your children with me is like leaving them with a “mom-away-from-mom,” as one of my employers used to call me.

I started to work extensively with children during high school through a church organization called KLEMA. I spent intimate time with autistic kids, learning to understand their needs before mine. I have continued to develop my love for children at UVA as I volunteer at the hospital as well as my local church. I absolutely adore children’s ingenuity, creativity, and innocence. Most of my friends think of me as a big kid. I like playing all sports, video games, and running around outside. I’m not a big fan watching tv when you can be out exploring the world and your imagination. I love reading, small pets, and cooking. Karen
Hi, my name is Karen. I am a full-time student at NOVA working to get my Associates in Early Childhood Development. I’ve been around kids all my life; I took care of my four-year-old nephew ever since he was born. I worked at a privately owned daycare for over two years and started off as a floater (going in rooms where I was needed). I worked with all ages from newborns to seven year olds. After a year and a half of working there I was given the opportunity to be the lead teacher of the 16-24 month old room.
I left the childcare center to finish getting my Associates. I am an active person, with a very trusting, honest and fun personality. I do speak Spanish, my family is from Nicaragua (Central America), and I had the privilege of growing up with two older brothers, so I am a “tuff cookie”

Katrina
Hi! My name is Katrina. I am 30 years old, originally from New York, and now live in the Ballston area of Arlington. I am currently in the midst of a career change into nursing, and studying at Marymount University. My first degree and work experience were in international relations, but I realized that I wanted to work with and help people more directly!
I have always loved working with kids, and have been babysitting since high school. I have experience with children of a variety of ages, including infants, toddlers, and those in elementary school. I worked as a nanny for an infant girl for a year after college, and have continued to babysit since then, particularly while in school. Since starting nursing school, I completed a course in OB/GYN, where I had direct experience working with infants in a hospital nursery. I am certified in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers. I hope to eventually work as an RN in labor and delivery.
When babysitting, I strive to devote 100% of my attention and energy to the child or children. I love to engage in conversations, stories, or songs with kids; laugh with them; and be silly with them. I enjoy activities with kids like reading; arts and crafts; playing games, make believe, and hide and seek; or just running around outside. I also strive to follow the routines that kids are used to, and to carry out what parents wish and expect while they are away. I will always clean up any messes before I leave! I would be more than happy to help kids with homework as needed.
As for me, I love being active, and go running, hiking, and biking regularly. I play the violin, and enjoy reading. I also speak French and German, and love animals.

Katty
Hi there! My name is Katty and I’m a student at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Born and raised in Arlington, Virginia, I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in a larger family so I’ve always been surrounded by children.
Beyond babysitting for family and friends, for the past three years I’ve worked with a girls scouts sponsored camp, Camp El Sol, where I had the privilege to oversee a variety of girls (from ages 4 - 12). I also served as the camp First Aid person, being first aid and CPR certified. I enjoy watching children develop their creative sides and get active.
I love getting to know children and watching them experience new things. I look forward to meeting you and your children!

I am a stay at home mom to 5 wonderful boys. Before I became a mom, I taught elementary school and also completed a master’s degree in teaching. I love being around children of all ages and have experience with all ages, from infants through teenagers. I have babysat since I was a teenager and enjoy engaging children in meaningful play. Taking kids to play outside, playing games, doing crafts, reading books, and anything else your child enjoys is what is important to me. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, scrapbooking, and exercising. I even completed my first triathlon this past summer.

Kristen
Hello! My name is Kristen and my two huge loves in life are: music and kids!! I’m a lyric soprano from Virginia Beach and I came to this area to study at Catholic University where I received my B.M. & M.M. As a musician, my schedule is not your typical 9-5, so I often have free time to babysit! I live in Alexandria, VA but I don’t mind doing a little driving if you need me for a substantial amount of time. I started babysitting my neighbors’ children in Virginia Beach when I was 12 and I have been babysitting since 2003 in the DC area. I have also spent summers taking care of my niece, nephew (pictured here) and young cousins in Virginia Beach. I have taken care of children of all ages, from newborn babies to pre-teens. I also have experience taking care of children with special needs (ie: autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD). I have found that every family is different; I typically spend my time with the kids keeping 1. what the parents have in mind (homework, eating vegetables, etc.) and 2. what the kids have in mind (running laps around the yard, painting pumpkins, etc.). I really enjoy spending time with children but I think a big reason why I babysit so much is due to the fact that I am extremely pro life. To me, a child is the most beautiful thing on this earth and I enjoy being around people who share that view. While we obviously teach children a great deal, often I have found that children have the capacity to teach US a thing or two! It seems that adults tend to move too fast and lose appreciation for the simple things in life; that is not the case with children! It’s truly beautiful how a child can teach us so much. I look forward to meeting you and to teaching and learning from your children!

It is very rewarding and I love to interact with kids.
I am a full-time real estate broker, however, since I love being around kids, I’d decided to work part-time as a sitter. I look forward to meeting your family.

Lilibeth
My name is Lilibeth and I currently attend George Mason University with an aspiration in receiving a Neuroscience degree as well as a minor in Psychology. I love working with children because as an emerging adult I feel as though people tend to forget the simple things in life. Children have innocence in them, no boundaries in imagination, and are at their peak in exploration and learning. As a caregiver, I will make sure to give your child a learning experience through activities, attention giving, and building fun memories. I lived in Virginia and the DC area for my entire life and now I reside in the Fairfax area. I’m also bilingual in Spanish and English since both of my parents are from El Salvador. Lindsay
Hi, my name is Lindsay. I am 24 years old and live in Chevy Chase, DC. Born and raised in the DC area, I have been babysitting for as long as I can remember. Because of my love for children, I decided to pursue a career focused on their development. Most recently, I spent the past 2 years as an elementary school speech therapist in Prince George’s County, MD– a career path that I plan to continue once I complete my master’s degree in speech pathology. While attending Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD, I spent my summers as a lifeguard with Century Pool Company, where I gave swimming lessons and developed CPR and first aid skills. I received my bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in 2007, and during my time there I regularly babysat for 2-year-old twins. I also volunteered at the West Virginia Speech Clinic, where I mentored a 6-year-old boy on a weekly basis.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my large (but extremely fun) extended family, as well as my 5(!) roommates and 2 dogs. When babysitting, I think it’s really important to keep kids active while having fun, so I try to engage them in activities that I always really enjoyed, such as creative arts and crafts projects and playing outdoors. I love being around children because I find their personalities fascinating, and I believe that each child deserves the attention needed to become a true individual. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon!!

Luke
Hello, and welcome to my biography. My name is Luke, and I am a Health and Physical Education major at GMU. I will be graduating shortly in order to teach elementary or middle school level Health and PE. Currently I am with the Huntington Learning Center in Vienna, where I have been tutoring children of all ages for over 4 years now. So, I am happy to engage in sports and activities with your children, and happy to help with some homework as well. On a more personal note, I enjoy hiking, basketball, art and animals. My wife and I live in Fair Lakes with our dog, Jordan, and cat, Rascal. Pets are like family too!
In addition to my learning about teaching and children at Mason, I have been babysitting for quite a while. I also have experience tutoring, as mentioned, and specialize in spelling, grammar and verbal skills. Camp counseling was another beneficial and memorable experience. My lengthy list of references will tell you that I am easy going, punctual and dependable. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio, and I look forward to working with your family.
In addition, I play a “big brother” role for Brandon, an 11 year old son of a good friend of mine. We have taken trips to the zoo, and get together once a month to play video games, etc. Also, I babysat my little cousins for many years.
I have a passion for animals, so they are more than welcome. As far as hobbies, I enjoy basketball and art. Drawing and painting in particular, but any art is a great activity. I can assure that your children and/or animals will have a wonderful time in my care, and I look forward to meeting with you!

Maggie
Hi! My name is Maggie and I am 22 years old. I grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania for two years studying nursing. I moved into the area a couple years ago and am now attending George Mason University to study Early Childhood Education. I have always loved being around children, whether it was babysitting since I was thirteen, wanting to be a nurse in a Children’s Hospital, or being an elementary education teacher. I spent my summers growing up working as a teacher’s assistant at a summer school for 3, 4, 5, and 6 year olds. Currently I work at Northern Virginia Academy of Early Learning. The school enrolls children from 2 months old up to Kindergarten age. My favorite things about my job are planning age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, baking cookies, and outside games. I love children of any age. Infants and children are so curious and creative I am always learning new things from them, just as I hope I am making an impression and teaching them new things.

Margaret M.
Hi! My name is Margaret and I am 28 years old. I was born and raised in Charleston, WV where I babysat for the majority of my teenage years. I attended college at Radford University and after graduation in 2005, I moved to Charleston, SC where I soaked up the sun and culture for the next 5 years of my life. While working as a paralegal in SC, I also worked for an agency very similar to ASAP Sitters, Inc. and was reminded of how much I love to babysit! So, I knew that when I moved to the Northern VA area in 2010, I wanted to keep that experience going.
I love being outdoors, so any chance that I have to take the child(ren) out to play, I will certainly grab it! I also like playing quiet games indoors, using our imaginations, story time, having fun dance parties etc! As long as the kids are happy, I’m happy!
I am extremely friendly, caring and patient, but that does not mean that I am a push-over. I have no problem putting a child in time-out or sending them to bed early, but I do not believe in spanking/hitting!
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and hopefully I will hear from you soon!

I have been a counselor as well and have handled many kids at a time. I’ve been challenged to create different activities that will retain a child’s attention for a long time. Nancy D.
My name is Nancy, I am 21 years old, and began babysitting when I was 14. I have babysat for the same families for about 3 years, and am very reliable when it comes to picking kids up from school, getting them started on homework, and making them snacks. I have been driving for 6 years now and have a clean record (no accidents/tickets). I work well with both boys and girls, and I love being able to play games with the children, and help them with homework. I also understand that parents need their time away from children, so I am available for late nights.
I enjoy children, and I am very good at making them feel comfortable with me in their home. I have no problem with special needs children, as I have previous experience with them; and I’m a huge pet lover. I recently moved to Annandale and attend school at Northern Virginia Community College but plan to transfer to George Mason in the next year. I was born in Fairfax and lived there for 9 years and then moved with my family to Orlando, Florida. I plan to become a Criminal Psychologist, but if that route does not pan out, I plan to be a Child Psychologist.

Hello! My name is Nancy. I’m 24 years old. I have babysat for children of all ages, from newborns to school age, as well as multiples. I worked as an au pair in Virginia from July 2006 to July 2007. I am fluent in French and English. I love children and I love playing with them. They are a part of my life and if I’m not around kids for a week, I feel like I’m missing something.
I like to teach children all kinds of things, such as counting, colors, abc’s, and I could also teach them French if you’d like! We won’t be sitting down in front of the tv all day - I have a lot of energy and like to be outdoors! I have a lot of experience with kids and really enjoy being with them. I will take care of them as if they were my own. They will always be happy to see me!!!
I can change diapers, feed infants or older kids; give them a bath; read them stories before bedtime and put them to bed. When your kids are with me for the day, they will be playing the whole time. The TV won’t be on. We’ll read books, color and paint, go to the park, play with cars or Barbies - I always have a lot of ideas depending on what the kids like to do! I love to cook and can do house chores, as well. I am a non-smoker. I have a VA driver’s license, my own car, and am legal to work in the USA. I am a very nice and outgoing girl and I look forward to babysitting for you!

Nikki
Hi, I’m Nikki. I am 30 years old and moved to NOVA from the Gulf Coast of Florida nearly 3 years ago. As an Army brat, I have lived all over the world, and I think that the experiences that I had in all those travels have really influenced who I have become. I have had about 18 years of child care experience. I first started babysitting when I was in middle school and have cared for many families for a number of years, with children ranging in age from newborns to pre-teens. When I was 17, my family opened a child care which I worked in until 2006. I started out as the assistant teacher in the school age program, and when school started, I became the lead teacher of the before and after school program while I attended college. Through the years I have been the lead teacher in the 2 year old, 3 year old, and pre-k classes before I became the Assistant Director of the center. While I was Assistant Director, I was constantly in all of our classrooms (1yo to School-Age) on a regular basis, so I have experience with children of all ages. Our center was one of the largest in the county, and a major portion of families were sent to us through the county recommendations, so I have experience with children with not only special family situations, but also special needs. I have my AA in Early Childhood Education (pre-school to early elementary age children), a BA in Literature and I am fully certified through the State of Florida in childcare, specifically developmentally appropriate practices and working with children with special needs. I love living in the Metro area for the fact that there is so much to do around here for children (and the kid at heart, which I still am!). The many different fairs, festivals, and museums around the area still interest me, and I try to experience as many different ones as I can. The culture that the area has to offer is something that every child should experience, to help them grow and become the adult they are destined to be. I love arts and crafts, reading, and exploring the area, and would love to do the these activities with your child/children.

Paige
Hi there!
Just to let you know a little about myself…
I have been playing softball ever since I can remember. For the past three years, I have been playing on the Division I team at Mason. However, this year I have decided to hang up my cleats. I was also a cheerleader all four years of high school. Therefore, I consider myself a very unique person because I have all the girlyness of a cheerleader and all the seriousness and athleticism of a softball player in me (not that cheerleading does not require athleticism, because it does…but you know what I mean). I am currently studying Finance at Mason and I love it. I have always been a very academic person and thus would be very open to helping children with their studies.
I am also an ANIMAL LOVER so pets will never be a problem! I love to cook as well. I look forward to meeting you and your children!

Porché
Hi! My name is Porché and I am a graduate student at George Mason University. Working with children has always been something that has brought me joy. I have worked as a babysitter since high school. The youngest client I have had so far is 6 months. My senior year of high school, in addition to babysitting for neighbors, I worked in a daycare with toddlers (aged 1-3). I have also worked with children aged 3-10 at a private elementary school in Fairfax. Additionally, I spent two summers in my undergrad career as a camp counselor at a leadership camp for middle and high school students. I love working with children of all ages! I don’t always work for children for profit. I have volunteered twice with Big Brothers Big Sisters and mentoring children in Jamaica. The genuineness and honesty you get from children is truly a breath of fresh air. Sometimes it’s fun to break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax and let your imagination get the best of you. Working with children allows you to do that. I am comfortable with house pets. I look forward to meeting your family soon. : )

I have spent the last 15+ months working as a full-time nanny for a 16-month-old boy (a position that my new intern schedule will not allow me to continue) and have loved every minute of it! Prior to working as a nanny I spent three years as a faculty advisor for a youth leadership conference, where I worked with children in 3rd through 12th grades on skills such as conflict resolution, writing, decision making, public speaking and working in groups. I also volunteer on a bi-weekly basis for Kids’ Night at a local homeless shelter, where I do arts and crafts and play various games with anywhere from 5 to 20 kids. I am passionate about education and doing what I can to help children to grow into happy, successful young adults!
To sum up my experience, I have worked with children of various backgrounds from 7 weeks (and a preemie) to 17 years. I love to play sports, board games, do arts and crafts, read and play outside when weather permits. I also love animals, so if you have them then that is certainly not a problem. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon!

Rebecca H.
Hi I’m Rebecca! I am 19 years old and am a sophomore at Virginia Tech studying Business. I have lived in Great Falls Virginia since I was young and have been babysitting for as long as I can remember. I enjoy working with kids and have been babysitting since my early teenage years. I have experience and am comfortable working with children of all ages. This past summer I was a full-time nanny who took care of two children by driving them to and from places, feeding them, and helping them with their homework.
In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, soccer, and reading. I also have experience working with and taking care of animals as well, from working at an animal hospital. I am an outgoing, responsible, and nice person who is a reliable driver and can cook a delicious meal! I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Rebecca R.
Hi, my name is Rebecca. I’m a 20-year-old student. I have been working with children since I was about 13 with my first job as a sitter. Since then, I started doing swim lesson at 14 and soon after started coaching swimming for my local swim team. I’ve worked mainly with 3-year-olds to teens, but have experience with younger children as well. In addition to coaching and teaching swimming, I have been a lifeguard, so safety is something I’m very familiar with. I used to tutor math and science (particularly chemistry) at my old high school, and I have a younger sister who I’ve always helped with schoolwork. Helping others is something I’ve always enjoyed doing. A lot of my volunteer work has involved children. My first year of college I acted as a mentor to first-graders at a local elementary school, which was truly an amazing experience! I have also volunteered for Adapted Aquatics and the Special Olympics.
Currently, I am working as an Instructional Assistant in Fairfax County at an elementary school. I work mostly with 5th grade Special Ed and 2nd/3rd grade autism. It’s difficult sometimes, but also very fun and rewarding. In addition to working at school, I’m a coach for a local club swim team, working with kids in the 10 and under range. I really love what I’m doing right now and being around kids all day is never boring! Playing with and being a role model for kids is something I’m truly passionate about. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon!

Robyn
Hi, my name is Robyn and I am a very energetic 54 year old. I have two grown children ages 22 and 33. I own my own home in Fairfax City and have lived here for 23 years. I grew up in Potomac, MD where I started my “babysitting” career. I started at age nine and even did overnights for couples that went out of town at the age of eleven. I took childcare classes in high school. After graduation I was a live out nanny in McLean for three different families for 10 years.
For 23 years now I have been running my own successful licensed in-home daycare. I am CPR and First-Aid certified. I am great with all ages. The children that I care for tell me that I am nice, funny and a lot of fun, and have several of their parents even refer to me as their “second mother”. Activities that I enjoy doing with children are teaching, playing, reading, games, art, music, and being outdoors. Caring for children is not only my career, but my passion and I would look forward to the opportunity to come into your home and meet your family. I have excellent references and my services are kid approved!

Ryan
My name is Ryan, I am 20 years old and am from Everett, WA though I currently live in Alexandria, VA with my wife. I am enrolled in school for this summer and I plan on pursuing a career as an EMT/Firefighter. I have been working with children ages two and up since I was 13. More recently I have been babysitting my cousin Abbie since she was born late August of 08. I love working with children, and am always up for playing games with them, whether they want to play basketball or barbies. Meeting a families needs are always number one however. If a strict schedule is needed to be met, I will stick to it religiously, or if you just want your child entertained for a few hours while keeping them fed and safe, I am the man for the job. I own a car and am able to drive them to sports practices or pick them up from school. Whatever service you need I will accommodate to the best of my abilities. I look forward to meeting your family and providing the childcare service you need. Talk to you soon!
